History of the Estonian Cryptocurrency Association. Today, the Estonian Web3 Chamber.
Summing up our previous activities, which started in 2014 with the creation of the previous organization, the Estonian Cryptocurrency Association.
2021
- Cooperation with the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit.
- Submitted opinions and proposals to the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Estonian Cryptocurrency Association regarding the UMIVS draft (law on crowdfunding and other investment instruments and virtual currencies).
- Organized an event on the topic of taxes, where the Estonian Tax and Customs Board answered the questions asked by our Facebook group.
2020
- In the first half of 2020, the EKRL board met with the Financial Intelligence Unit to discuss control methods in licensed companies.
- This was followed by a period of global pandemic, which put a damper on many plans.
- In the second half of the year, we were able to start again with our monthly series of events, where the topics were both the decentralized financial world and money laundering and its prevention.
- With the new pandemic wave, our plans shifted a bit again, but we still organized events, according to the most talked about topics of that period.
2019
- Constant participation in Finance Estonia meetings, representing EKL's positions.
- Continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Finance (consultations, Tokenized OÜ, cooperation with the Financial Intelligence Unit, regulation feedback, response to the Security Token Offering regulation proposal and more).
- Visited the Security Committee and the Internal Security Service.
- Communication with LHV Bank, communication with the Bank of Estonia.
- Constant cooperation with Äripäev (inputs for articles, opinions, radio appearances, comments, etc).
- Conducted training and consultations for various parties.
- Administration and moderation of the Facebook group "Kryptoraha Eesti Grupp" with 6,300 members as of June 2019, about 900 joined within the previous year.
- Estonian Standards Center - Participation in the working group of the Technical Committee EVS/TK "Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies".
2018
- Jan – Participated in Riigikogu blockchain event.
- Mar – Cooperation with Byteball.
- Apr – Major website update.
- May – Book "Everything Began with Bitcoin" by Asse Sauga published.
- Sep – Represented EKRL and Estonia at the Seoul Blockchain Summit.

- 26.01.17 – Cryptocurrency training at the economic conference of the Pirita Economic Gymnasium.
- 09.03.17 – Participation in the organization of the Blockchain conference.

- 03.05.17 – Training overview of cryptocurrency technologies for Estonian Police and MTA officials.
- 06.06.17 – Consultation related to cryptocurrencies to the Tax and Customs Board (MTA).

- 23.07.16 – St.Petersburg Open University Seminar smart contracts presentation.

2015
- Feb – Completed a legal analysis of cryptocurrency and an overview of the business environmen.
- 10.02.15 – Basic blockchain training for the Financial Intelligence Unit and police investigators.
- 21.02.15 – Coinfest in Mektory, the largest bitcoin/blockchain conference in the region.
- 23.02.15 – Presented at the Bitcoin meetup in Riga.
- 14.03.15 – Organized a workshop at the winter academy in Tartu.
- 01.07.15 – Meeting with Minister of Finance, Sven Sester and advisers.

2014
Estonian Cryptocurrency Association (EKRL) was founded on 24.11.2014
Initial board members Asse Sauga, Joonas Trussman, Erki Koldits, Priit Lätt and Raivo Malter together with the founding members.
